Senior Sales Analyst

The Sr. Sales Analyst helps drive sales growth and profitability by identifying areas for expansion and improvement. They use methods such as analyzing key metrics; coordinating with cross functional departments to develop and implement solutions; determine best business practices. They also create reports based on their analysis of sales data and present that data to others in their organization, including management.


JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Sales Analyst helps drive sales growth and profitability by identifying areas for expansion and improvement. They use methods such as analyzing key metrics; coordinating with cross functional departments to develop and implement solutions; determine best business practices. They also create reports based on their analysis of sales data and present that data to others in their organization, including management.

The Sr. Sales Analyst generally works in a high-intensity environment in which they are responsible for several concurrent tasks, which makes the ability to multitask and solve problems quickly important. Attention to detail and meet deadlines are also needed. The Sr. Sales Analyst must also possess advanced analytical skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Optimize sales and operational efficiency through innovative thinking, process improvement and system enhancements and best practice sharing.
  • Apply quantitative analysis and data visualization to tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and initiate, drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Track and analyze key metrics – Customer Balance S-M-L, Bin Value, Order Value, Quality Performance, Exhaustion opportunities, Gross Profit Improvement Initiatives, etc.)
  • Apply data cleansing techniques to improve the quality and accuracy of customer contractual obligations and customer hierarchy.
  • Assist the sales operations manager in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies to implement data enrichment processes to improve sales team’s performance.
  • Works frequently with Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Finance, VMI Program Specialist, Implementation, and Marketing to communicate findings and implement future strategies.
  • Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations.
  • Provide competitive analysis on target customers and potential sales advantages.
  • Identifies market trends within the industry and communicates them to sales management.
  • Provides analysis on industry pricing models for comparison against current company structure.
  • Helps implement best practice sales reporting through Business Warehouse.
  • Proactively analyzes win-loss data and reports on key findings to sales leadership.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • SAP skills are advantageous.
  • Competency with relational databases and SQL queries.
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve required goals.
  • Required to have a high level of detail in the output of work.
  • Ability to manage projects and own the project from start to finish.
  • Must be able to verbalize thoughts and information via excel clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts though excel functions that deliver business critical information related to our industry requirements.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Advanced judgement and decision making skills
  • Must occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally.
