Director of Purchasing
Central and West Regions
Würth Industry North America
How long have you worked for Würth?
What do you like most about your job?
There’s a different challenge every day. It never gets boring. And I’ve got a great group of friends around me at work.
What's a common question you get from customers?
“Can you get me a sample?”
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Watch movies, listen to music, and read. I watch a lot of sports. I’m also a bit of a news junkie.
Who are your favorite sports teams?
Cincinnati Reds and Kentucky Wildcats
What's a fun fact about you?
My picture appears briefly during the opening credits of the low-budget horror movie “Trailer Park of Terror.”
What is a typical day like?
First of all, coffee. Nothing is happening without coffee. After that, I’ll start off checking the Purchasing KPIs and daily Management reports out of WS1, then go through the rest of my e-mails from overnight. I’ll touch base with the Purchasing leaders on open topics, and check my calendar for any project or task deadlines that I have in the coming days. With all of the activity going on in WINA, you have to stay organized, and for me it’s easiest to give myself deadlines and work towards those.
I read e-mails frequently and try to answer the most pressing within 30 minutes, since e-mail volume is up with so many people still away from the office (not to mention my new involvement with the Western region). And, also with the pandemic, there are plenty of conference calls on the schedule.
Once things quiet down at the end of every day, I clean out my inbox and answer any messages that are left.
What is your job title?
Director of Purchasing for the Central and West regions.
Which Wurth Company do you work for?
I work for the Central and West region companies.
