What do you like most about your job?
What I love most about trade compliance is that the day-to-day environment of import/export, and the regulations that govern these activities, is ever changing and rarely do we deal with the exact same situation twice. I love being a part of a team that gets to work through new and complex situations each and every day. It makes this job fun, exciting, and challenging - exactly my type of environment!
What do you like to do when you're not working?
When I'm not working, I like to be spending time with my family. Whether we're just hanging out at home for the weekend or traveling to some fun vacation destination - that quality time is what this is all about.
What are your favorite sports teams?
I'm a college sports fan more than anything, and I'm always rooting for my Alma Mater - Michigan State University - GO GREEN!! I'd be remiss if I didn't say that the Indianapolis Colts hold a spot in my favorites list - but professional ball isn't as much fun to me.
What is a typical day like for you?
A typical day in trade compliance is a fast-paced juggling act working to get our products in and out of the country; while simultaneously ensuring that all of the facts and documents related to these shipments are compliant with our regulations.
What's a fun fact about you?
I graduated from undergraduate studies with a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Development (along with a teaching degree). It doesn't make much sense that a first grade school teacher moves to international trade compliance and falls in love with the business - but, it definitely proves that what is meant to be will be!
