Chad Baker

Regional Operations Director

Würth Industry North America – Central Region

Greenwood, IN

How long have you worked for Würth?

One and a half years.

What do you like most about your job?

The non-repetition of a constantly changing environment keeps me on my toes, but it's also rewarding to be able to have such a great team that can work together to bring positive change for our organization. It's rewarding to have a few key kickoff discussions about the what, why and how we will make a change and then quickly watch that change come to fruition.

What do you like to do when you're not working?

I really enjoy being outside. Hunting, hiking, golfing, and working outside are all things I like to do. Let's call it therapy.

What are your favorite sports teams?

West Virginia Mountaineers, Kentucky Wildcats, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals,

What is a typical day like for you?

Usually begins with a quick touch base with my respective MD's then on to some daily correspondence with my different leaders and managers. Setting strategy for what our Central Region Logistics will look like in the next 6,12 and 18 months and helping my team through some of the difficult tasks consumes the majority of my day.

What's a fun fact about you?

I started college in one of the top nursing programs in the country. 10,000 applicants per year, and they choose 100 out of those 10,000. I made it. It was me, one other guy and 98 girls. After two years of nursing school, I learned that I don't have the patience, drive or personality to be a nurse. God bless them! I asked myself what else I was good at and math was the answer, so I completely changed my career path to electrical engineering which I completed a B.S.E.E in a little over two years after switching.

What’s a common question you get from customers?

I try to speak as little to our outside customers as possible. I'll leave that to the Sales organization. They are the professionals! From my internal customers, I often get asked “how did this work in manufacturing”? I get to offer a different point of view to my colleagues that they see beneficial when approaching their customers.
