Quality Engineer

Würth Service Supply, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer at the corporate headquarters in Greenwood, IN, to apply and maintain the quality requirements and standards for customer product, and act as the primary resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.


Regularly, the Quality Engineer will be responsible to do the following:

  • Assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system;
  • Implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection;
  • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports;
  • Assist in process certification;
  • Report on quality issues, trends and losses;
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits, close out audit findings, create audit finding reports, and determine proper corrective and preventive actions;
  • Apply quality tools and techniques for supplier quality requirements and continuous improvement;
  • Resolve issues with suspect/nonconforming product;
  • Collaborate with suppliers and customers to resolve product quality issues;
  • Assist in maintaining the Action Request System (ARS) for corrective actions including internal, external, preventive and customer complaints;
  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints;
  • Develop PPAPs and conduct Failure Analysis as required;
  • Support Quality Technicians to ensure that products and processes comply with relevant requirements of the quality management system;Oversee the calibration system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field; or Associate’s degree in related field plus minimum of 4 years’ industrial experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing quality control, preferably in the automotive industry or other heavy industrial, aerospace, or manufacturing industries
  • Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control
  • Knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R), and flow diagrams
  • Familiarity with current revisions of ISO9001 and/or TS16949 requirements, and ISO 17025 / A2LA requirements
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Computer proficiency, specifically in Microsoft Office software, with the ability become proficient in Company standalone applications
  • Blueprint reading
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 40 lbs.
